The centre Arts Group is a club for artist of all ages working in all two-dimensional media. The group was first founded in the 1960's and we have now established a good steady membership over the years. Our members prefer to work at their own pace using their own materials. Some informal tuition is available and members are always prepared to help each other.

Meetings take place each Wednesday evening at the Community Centre, Prospect Road, Ossett starting at 7.00pm till 9.00pm. The club as now grown in popularity over the years that we now have a waiting list for people wishing to join our group. Anyone who is interested please do not hesitate to contact us.

We occasionally have demonstrations with the odd trip out: our past trips include the Artist and Illustrators Exhibition in London and Patching's Art Festival in Calverton, Nottingham. We also hold a painting day out once a month where if anyone wishes to try their hand at painting in the great outdoors can do so.

We launched our "Art in Action" project in 2006. Having been awarded a grant from the awards committee applied for by our previous secretary Mrs P. Earnshaw which as enabled us to finance the project "ART IN ACTION" bringing a whole new meaning of expressing art amongst groups and individuals. The aim of the project was to bring "ART" in the community, together with interest, activity and communication amongst the young and the not so very young! Take a peak at our "art in action" page.
